The touring screen’s design also incorporates the X in the headlight, matching the modern outfit of the R1300GS. Lightweight and easy to change, it can be quickly installed in colourless, smoke grey, or elegant black. The windscreen is compatible with or without the radar system. VSA Vario Spoiler is an adjustable add-on spoiler blade for mounting on an existing motorbike screen. Once positioned, the spoiler blade directs the air between the spoiler and the screen so as to prevent turbulence at the upper edge of the screen. Adjusting the spoiler to a steeper angle will increase the delay in air flow, which reduces pressure from headwind without causing turbulence around the rider. This gives you an altogether more comfortable riding experience. The Vario Spoiler easily adjusts to seven different positions by hand – no tools required. The two brackets on the side keep visibility clear for the road ahead without causing eddies in the airflow in this area. There are two ways of mounting the spoiler blade: either by using the clamps supplied, or by drilling into the screen and screwing the blade on. The packaging includes hardware for both mounting methods. Using the clamping method gives you the benefit of being able to dismantle the spoiler blade without leaving any traces. The clamps still keep a firm grip at top speeds.

The NT1100 aims to follow in the footsteps of the Pan-European and Deauville and has a definite street focus about it. Honda places great value on good winter protection from the factory – with the additional deflectors to keep the rider’s arms and lower body shielded from the headwind. You will immediately notice the added benefit after replacing the original screen with an MRA Vario touring screen fitted with a spoiler that adjusts to seven positions: The top-mounted spoiler helps fan out the air flow between the screen and VT spoiler, thus further reducing wind pressure without causing turbulence – excellent conditions for a relaxed ride, even on long tours. The Vario touring screen is available in clear and smoke grey and comes with a complete set of mounting hardware included. The five-position height and angle adjustment stays, of course.
