They work! I’ve since mounted them on numerous bikes, several Ducatis, a Triumph T120 Bonneville and a V-Strom over the last 20 years. They work very well, reducing turbulence and bug strikes.

I’ve used narrower spoilers to good effect

You can use the included clamps or drill your screen and bolt them on, which is what I have done.

Comment on Desert Fox Overland Gas Bag for Motorcycles – 6L Total Capacity by peterfrederixon https://twistedthrottle.com/shop/luggage/fuel-bottles-and-mounts/desert-fox-overland-gas-bag-6l/comment-page-1/#comment-1899063 Fri, 21 Feb 2025 14:47:58 +0000 https://twistedthrottle.com/?post_type=product&p=997523#comment-1899063 Ordered and received 8 months later. Used 1 time and it leaked fuel from the bladder near the cap. After doing a bit of research on desert fox, this is a private label brand from “The Bike Shop” in South Africa. I found no evidence these bladders were designed or used by any military. This is simply an overpriced bladder from Temu with a cool looking outer cover. As cool as this product looks please don’t spend your hard earned money on this. Desert Fox never replied to my warranty request.

Installation was a snap! Only problem was…no sound! I stuck them in my “bought for my bike but did not work” box. It’s pretty hard to screw up the installation. Any ideas why mine wouldn’t hoot?

I must edit my previous review. I see that the new models DO have vent releases. That is a great improvement. and it looks like the 38L has been redesigned with a large wide opening. Another great improvement. So kudos, and my apologies. my only two “nags” and they have been addressed and solved!

Still going strong after well over 250,000 miles. For longer trips i use them together stacked. For one week or less i take the 28 L mostly. It’s double ended roll up make it almost two bags in one, making for easier access to gear. Plus the double ending makes it a tube shape and i can stuff more things compressing them. so i can get 38 L of clothing and jackets into the 28L bag!. The tie-downs are simple and so versatile allowing these to fit on different bikes (Ducati, Honda CBR, BMW RT is what i use). The 38L has a hard liner in the bottom to hold its shape. It is removeable should you want the bag to be more conformable. The 28 has nothing, so it can be limp if you don’t fold the ends tight to keep the tube filled. I have never had any leaks, everything always stay reliably dry. The 38L (on mine at least) has a narrow opening because of the way the waterproof material has to be folded before it is glued and stitched. (This may have changed on new models). Accordingly larger items fit better into the 28 than they do the 38, oddly enough. It’s a slight enough annoyance that i choose to not use it as often as the 28. But the roll top on it works very well. There are no air pressure relief valves on either of these, so it’s important to work air out before they final roll. if you don’t over time the air will find its way out and your straps will loosen. No big deal.

maybe frame width changed in addition to bolt clamp.

It significantly reduces wind pressure on your chest at highway speeds and I experienced no wind buffeting. I’m 5’7″. I still got clean air around my full-face helmet but not significant pressure. This shield made highway rides much more comfortable and significantly reduced fatigue. The mounting hardware is high quality and very durable. You can make infinite adjustments to the angle.

Comment on Desert Fox Overland Gas Bag for Motorcycles – 6L Total Capacity by Dean Henthorn https://twistedthrottle.com/shop/luggage/fuel-bottles-and-mounts/desert-fox-overland-gas-bag-6l/comment-page-1/#comment-1873126 Thu, 19 Sep 2024 23:08:04 +0000 https://twistedthrottle.com/?post_type=product&p=997523#comment-1873126 I sourced this bag several years ago and bought one of the first ones from this very website when they got the distribution deal for the US. I used the bag twice. The pour spout is a bad design for sure but made it work. The flexible bag design is a great concept. The reason I give it one star? This bag has been stored in a clean, dry environment out of the Suns UV rays, (when not being used) Today I am packing for a ride and need the bag. When I picked up the pristine looking bag, every piece of canvas strap including the D ring holders disintegrated and fell off. IF the thing even holds gas now, I have no way of strapping it to my bike. What a waste of money.!

Yes, I did make a video of this for those key board warrior and manufactures that need proof. I just wanted a bag that is reliable.
